Reason 1: Unoptimized Images (The Classic)
By far the most common reason for slow sites. Often photos are uploaded directly from stock photo platforms or from a smartphone in life size (e.g. 4000x3000 pixels at 5 MB file size), even though the image is only displayed at 400x300 pixels on the website.
The Solution:
- Skalieren Sie Bilder: Laden Sie Bilder nur in der maximal benötigten Abmessung hoch.
- Modernes Format nutzen: Verwenden Sie

Reason 2: Too many plugins and heavy theme
Wenn Sie WordPress nutzen, kennen Sie das: Für jede Kleinigkeit wird ein Plugin installiert. Eins für das Kontaktformular, eins für den Slider, eins für Pop-ups, drei für SEO. Jedes Plugin lädt seine eigenen CSS- und JavaScript-Dateien, oft auf jeder Unterseite, auch wenn es dort gar nicht gebraucht wird.

- Ausmisten: Deaktivieren oder löschen Sie jedes Plugin, das nicht zwingend notwendig ist.
- Custom Development: Funktionen hardcoden statt 5 verschiedene Plugins zu nutzen.
- Leichtes Theme: Ein schlankes, minimalistisches Theme (oder Custom-Design) spart hunderte HTTP-Requests.
Reason 3: Cheap Hosting
You invest thousands of euros in design and SEO, but host on the cheapest €2/month server package. You share these servers with hundreds of other websites (Shared Hosting). If another site on the same server currently has a lot of traffic, your site will also become unbearably slow.
The Solution:
- Gutes Hosting wählen: Wechseln Sie zu einem professionellen Anbieter mit schnellen SSD-Festplatten und modernen Nginx/LiteSpeed-Servern (z.B. in Österreich oder Deutschland für kurze Pings).
- Caching nutzen: Server-seitiges Caching oder ein gutes Caching-Plugin kann Datenbankanfragen massiv reduzieren.
Reason 4: Render-Blocking by JavaScript & CSS
The term "render-blocking" means that the browser is forced to download and execute scripts or stylesheets before it is allowed to build the visible content (text, images) of the page. The user sees a white screen until then.
The Solution:
- Kritisches CSS: Laden Sie das CSS für den "Above-the-Fold" Bereich (der sichtbare Teil ohne Scrollen) inline im

Reason 5: Missing Browser Caching
Without browser caching, a returning visitor has to completely download the logo, fonts, and all CSS/JS files from the server every single time.
The Solution:
- In der
.htaccessDatei am Server "Cache-Control" Header setzen. So weiß der Browser des Besuchers: "Ah, dieses Logo ändert sich nicht oft, ich speichere es für 30 Tage auf dem Smartphone des Nutzers".
